What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are titanium posts that are surgically placed in the jaw and then covered with a crown that matches the shade and size of your other teeth. They require no special care. You can brush and floss them just as you would natural teeth.

Dr. White is highly trained and experienced with performing dental implants. During the procedure, we first surgically place a titanium post within your jawbone, below the gums. Over time, the bone around the implant grows around it, securing it in place—much like a natural tooth. This process, called osseointegration, helps ensure that dental implants are long-lasting and strong. Once this process is complete, we carefully craft a customized tooth called a dental crown, which is then fitted over the post. If you need more than one tooth replaced, customized dentures or bridges will be created to fit your implants.

Creating A Strong, Healthy Smile

We provide the latest technological advances in dentistry to ensure your dental implant is strong reliable, and comfortable. When sized properly, implants can be more successful 10 years after placement than hip or knee replacements!

The entire dental implant procedure for our Holly Ridge, Sneads Ferry and Surf City patients can be performed on a 3D duplicate of your mouth in order to prepare for the treatment and help ensure predictable results with the real case. This allows us to help ensure optimized treatment for our patients.
